My Perspective.png

You Have the Power to Heal Yourself.

I believe that you have the power to heal yourself. What does that mean? It means that everything that you want is available to you and you are able to create from a place of power, rather being subject to life’s events. You can learn how to respond, not react. How to move from a place of authenticity and being grounded. How to release the self betrayal and consciously choose what you want to experience. I believe within you, you already know what steps to take towards living an authentic life. It is your birthright to live abundantly.

With support and guidance, I am able to journey alongside you as you unveil the hidden parts of yourself, that which feels distant, forgotten or neglected. The true you, the one who existed before society & your family told you who they think you are.

Note: This perspective does not mean that Anna thinks people “just need to choose to be happy”. Rather the opposite. Change is one of the only things we can count on in this world. Anna supports you in discovering the tools that work best for you to cope with life.

Anna utilizes a framework for manifesting that is decolonized. This means AYA includes the following principles: acknowledgment of the systems of oppressions humxns live in, belief that you are a person in your environment and therefore impacted by that environment (from the macro stuff like the country level to the micro level like your community), presence in the work (i.e. not spiritual bypassing), value-based decision making & heart centered living. By understanding how you are impacted as a person in the environment, you are able to gain more control in how you respond to life’s circumstances.

AYA’s Values:

Antiracist | We believe that as citizens of the United States, the dominant culture taught to individuals is one rooted in white supremacy. The goal is to continue to unlearn & decolonize our thoughts, actions and emotions to create a sustainable, healthy, “power with” relationships. This involves challenging racism and actively working to change the policies, behaviors, and beliefs that perpetuate racist ideas and actions.

Authentic Approach | Anna believes in working from a place of genuine authenticity. Anna believes in sharing pieces about herself/theirself as it is beneficial for the client. It is important as well to balance this with centering the client in all of the work, thus, it will not be the focus of our conversations.

Compassion | Anna holds deep compassion for her/their clients and what they are experiencing.

Collaboration | We work better when we work together. Anna believes in letting client’s lead the way, utilizing their own intuition to tap into what will be best for their healing.

Power With | Coaching often have a power over dynamic, meaning that the therapist/coach is seen as having the answers to heal an individual. Anna believes in creating power with structures in services to ensure that there are no pedestals, gurus or masters. Only you hold the keys to unlocking that which keeps you locked up. Our work is helping you discover where the hidden keys are.

Trauma Informed Approach | We utilize a social justice lens, strength based and trauma informed approach in all of our work.

Unconditional Positive Regard | Utilizing concepts from Humanistic therapist Carl Jung and Collaborative Problem Solving practices, Anna believes People do well if they can, not if they want to. This means that rather assuming a person is intentionally acting in a certain way for some negatively-based reason, Anna believes that people create solutions for themselves based on their access to skills. Furthermore, “unconditional positive regard involves showing complete support and acceptance of a person no matter what that person says or does. The therapist/coach accepts and supports the client, no matter what they say or do, placing no conditions on this acceptance. That means the therapist /coach supports the client, whether they are expressing "good" behaviors and emotions or "bad" ones “ (Source)
